Our Own Home!

We made it to Oregon and still feel like we are living in a dream...except for the fact that the kids all had the stomach flu this week. Real life is setting in and we are excited to get to know the area and friends and neighbors. In the meantime...lots of fun work ahead of us.Where the steep part of the driveway begins...good thing the snow doesn't stick here (I hope) or we would be in trouble! Preston gets to walk this longs steep driveway to catch the bus. It has been a good workout for me and the kids this week. I know I'm sore!
Here is our view from the front. It is a beautiful look over the small town. This is what makes the driveway worth it.
Ethan and Sylvia were enjoying the free ride from Preston while the movers were unpacking the truck.
Exploring the side yard the first morning here.
Here is our back deck. The kids were thrilled with what they found at their new house. It was so much fun watching their excitement to know that this is actually our very own place.
They found lots of little tadpoles in the pond. Preston was so excited because the school he just left was the "frog team" so he had just learned all about frogs. They can't wait to have "pet" frogs and keep going our to check on them. The pond needs some TLC, but it has great potential.
Here is our front yard with the big sunny windows in the front. That is one feature we really love about the house...all the natural lighting. I guess we will need all we can get during the dark rainy times. This house is more than we could have hoped for. We can't believe our dream of owning a home has finally come true. The small sacrifices have paid off! We feel the Lord has truly blessed us and helped us to find just the right place for our family. It took a long time to get here, but we know He helped us every step of the way. There were some young families at church today that couldn't believe we already bought a house here. They have been looking for a year with no luck. Everything just seemed to fall into place at the right time for us. Thanks to all of you for all your words of encouragement, love and friendship. We couldn't have done this without you.
Now we have more projects than can be listed, but so much fun to know the work we will do is something we will be able to enjoy in years to come.
