Day at the Beach

This was pretty cute to see. We were cold and didn't want to go in the waves, so we suggested that Preston ask Sylvia. Here he is holding her hand while the two of them are laughing in the tide. Picture moment. Dad was freezing most of the time...thus the orange fleece blanket from our trunk. We hadn't come prepared for the cool weather. Someday we'll learn.
Preston kept begging dad to play with him, as always. Dad was too cold from the waves so Preston took him up on the offer to build a sand castle. As soon as it was built, Sylvia came to tear it down. Preston was mad because that is the only reason he built the castle, so he could demolish it.

Sylvia is our little beach girl. She was the first one in the water and stayed there dispite all her shivering. She would stand on the beach and let the tide come in on her legs, and as it went back out, she would lose her balance and fall into the water. Luckily she just laughed about it and held our hands so she didn't get taken out with the tide.

Daddy was home for the weekend...yeah!! So, Preston suggested we go to the beach for our fun outing. We haven't been since Ethan was born so we had to go. We went to Manresa State Beach which is not as popular as some of the main ones on Santa Cruz...we try to stay away from the crowds. It started out being kind of cold, overcast and windy, but just as we were getting too cold the sun came out. The kids had a great time!

How fun, I can't wait until it gets warm enough for us to go to the beach here!
