Mom made some Hot Cross Buns to go with our cracked wheat and Easter eggs for breakfast. I guess these are an Easter tradition for many cultures. We thought they were good, but nothing fabulous...like a cinnamon roll without the gooey center. Should be called a spice roll or something.
For our dinner we did enjoy the "empty tomb" rolls. You wrap dough around a big marshmallow, and when it bakes, the mallow melts and you have a sweet roll with a hole in the middle. It is supposed to remind us of Christ's empty tomb. I think this will stick for an Easter dinner tradition. Preston was hoping we would do more Easter stuff tomorrow. Holidays are fun, but they must come to an end so we can enjoy them the next year.
We were grateful for this to reflect and celebrate the Saviors great love for us. I know His atonement and resurrection were given to us so we do not have to go through the pain He already felt. How wonderful it is to know that Christ was resurrected that we too may live again and gain eternal life and be able to live with our families forever! What a wonderful time to live on this earth and have a knowledge of the Gospel...this good news.
(Hopefully the pics will load tomorrow!)
