Happy New Year

This is what we did for our new years day celebration...not quite like my families tradition of cross-county skiing, but when there isn't any snow and it is too cold for the beach this is what we came up with. First, see what "Christmas in the Park" is like, then lunch at the much too common Jack in the Box (the kids were excited about the cheeseburger kids meal, with a toy of coarse).

Luckily when we finished lunch, the rides in the middle of all the decorated Christmas trees were open and ready for riders. Sylvia and Preston chose the car ride. Sylvia of course chose it because Preston did. He has been into race cars lately!
We couldn't finish our fun San Jose experience without using a public toilet. This one was worth the experience. Only 25 cents for a clean and new bathroom experience for father and son. This was the first we had seen of its kind...put your quarter in, the door opens and you have 20 minutes MAX to do your business, and if you are not out by then, the door opens automatically. Good way to keep people from living in there I guess.

We finished our day off well with dad and Preston enjoying a college football game (doesn't happen often) and eating our traditional cheese fondue. The kids thought it was fun having that for dinner with veggies to dip along with the bread.
2009 here we come. It will be fun to see what the new year brings.
