Academy of Sciences

We finally made it into the newly opened Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park. We tried going with Cordell's parents when they were here around Christmas, but the museum was overflowing with tons of people waiting besides. Cordell got 2 days off in the middle of this week after working 9 days straight, so we took advantage and had a fun little trip to the city.

Preston has been into Zebras lately because "they run super fast". He even picked out zebra print fleece for his Christmas PJ pants....so he was pretty excited to see these stuffed zebras at the museum.

Does anyone see any resemblance here? Ancestors huh? Just a little more fat storage on my hot hubby and they could be related;)

Here's Sylvia being her silly self, laying on the aquarium ledge. She loved to just stare at all the fishes and could have stayed in that area of the museum longer, but Preston was bored with the aquarium so we moved on.

Check out these ancient fish! I don't remember what they were called, but they were huge...I should have put a person in the picture. There wasn't a huge amount of fish at the aquarium part, but what was there was stuff we hadn't ever seen before. So cool to see!

Yeah for Dinosaurs. This has also been one of Preston's interests for a while. Too bad this was the only big dino. We were hoping for some animated ones like they used to have in this museum before redoing it. We enjoyed the rain forest exhibit as well.
